DeckNotes

Terms

The rules of the road.

By signing in to DeckNotes, you agree to the terms below. They cover what we offer, what we expect from you, who owns what, and how either of us can walk away.

Last updated: April 29, 2026.

What you get

The service.

DeckNotes reads Google Slides decks you point at it and posts reviewer feedback as native Slides comments. The feedback is generated by AI panelists tuned to specific perspectives (storytelling, visual design, financial rigor, etc.). We do our best to make it useful. We don’t guarantee that any specific reviewer will catch any specific problem in your deck. Treat the feedback the way you’d treat a colleague’s — as a signal worth weighing, not a pronouncement.

Your account

How accounts work.

You sign in with a Google account. You’re responsible for what happens under that account — including any decks you submit for review. You agree to use the service only for content you have the right to share, and not to submit anything you wouldn’t be comfortable showing the panelists named on the About page.

Don’t scrape, attack, or try to break the service. Don’t use it to send spam, harass anyone, or generate content that violates the law. Don’t share your account with someone else — sign-in is per-person.

Your content

It’s your deck.

You keep all rights to your slides, your text, your images, your ideas. We don’t claim ownership of anything you submit for review.

To deliver the service, we need a narrow license to read your slides, send their content to our AI service to generate feedback, and write that feedback back to your file as comments. You grant us that license for the duration of a review. We don’t use your content for any other purpose — not training, not analytics, not marketing.

Reviewer comments themselves are written into your Google Slides file. They’re yours to keep, edit, resolve, or delete. Revoke our access to your Google account and we no longer have a handle on the file.

Pricing

Free tier and paid plans.

Pricing for paid plans is published on the Pricing page. The free tier’s limits are listed there too. We can change pricing with at least 30 days’ notice to your account email. If we change a paid plan’s price during your billing cycle, the new price applies starting at your next renewal — never retroactively.

Service availability

Best effort, not a guarantee.

DeckNotes is provided as-is. We aim for the service to be up and working most of the time, but we don’t guarantee it. Outages happen — ours, Google’s, our AI vendor’s. We don’t commit to a specific uptime SLA on any plan unless we explicitly say so in writing.

Reviewer output may occasionally be wrong, useless, or off-topic. You agree not to rely on it as the sole input for decisions that have material consequences (legal, medical, financial). It’s a writing aid, not an authority.

Liability

What we’re on the hook for.

To the maximum extent allowed by law, our total liability to you for anything related to the service is capped at the amount you paid us in the prior twelve months — or one hundred US dollars, whichever is greater. We’re not responsible for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages (lost profits, lost data, missed opportunities). This isn’t us being cavalier; it’s the standard arrangement that lets a small service exist at a small price.

Termination

How either side ends it.

You can stop using the service at any time. Email hello@decknotes.app and we’ll delete your account and associated metadata within seven days. Past reviewer comments stay in your Google Slides files unless you delete them yourself.

We can suspend or close your account if you violate these terms, if your usage threatens the service for other users, or if a law requires it. We’ll explain why when we can.

Legal

Boring but necessary.

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Colorado, USA, without regard to its conflict-of-laws rules. Disputes go to the state or federal courts located in Denver County, Colorado, and you and we both consent to that.

DeckNotes is operated by Jumpstart Lab, LLC. If you need to reach a human about anything in this document, email hello@decknotes.app.

Changes

When these terms change.

We can update these terms. If a change materially affects your rights or obligations, we’ll send notice to your account email at least 30 days before it takes effect. The current version always lives at this URL with the “Last updated” date at the top.
